Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge

Being located in the middle of Arvada, Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge is the smallest National Wildlife Refuge in the country.  Operated by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, you will find a 72-acre refuge home to native plants, animals, and birds. Learn more about Westminster, Colorado.

Wildlife

Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge reports seeing deer, turtles, and coyotes. Raccoons, red fox, muskrat, and beaver make their homes here. The birds found at Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge are hawks, woodpeckers, red-winged blackbirds, waterfowl, magpies, and herons.

Hiking

There is a well-developed network of trails through wetlands, woodlands, and prairie grasslands. While walking, you will be treated to spectacular views of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains.
