On Tuesday November 7th 2017 Denver passed the “Denver Green Roof Initiative” required all new builds and building additions to include sustainable roof improvements.
Section 10-301 A of the ordinance states, “Every building with a gross floor area of 25,000 Square feet or greater or a building addition that causes the building to become 25,000 square feet or greater constructed after January 1, 2018, shall include a green roof with a coverage of available roof space…”
While either addition promotes an environmentally conscious building, adding a solar array is the only one that both adds value to the building and is income generating.
As a trusted Colorado Front Range solar energy installer, ARE Solar is in a great position to help builders and business make the most out of the new requirements coming January 1st of 2018. Like all of our projects, commercial and residential, ARE will take care of all permitting and communication with the local government. In these cases that includes the new “Green Roof Declaration Form”.
Our goal, concerning The Denver Green Roof Addition is to add value to upcoming projects in way that meets all new regulations, in a way that doesn’t add any extra work or stress to builders.
